Title: Precision in the Print: Why Every Thread Needs to Tell the Same Story

Title: Precision in the Print: Why Every Thread Needs to Tell the Same Story

Launching a brand rooted in purpose takes more than just ideas—it takes obsession with the details. When I started designing the logo for Black Dad Energy, I didn’t want just a symbol. I wanted a signature. A visual identity that would speak when we don’t. That’s why I didn’t settle after version one… or two… or five.

I’ve drawn up multiple designs for the logo, each one a variation on a theme of pride, strength, and legacy. Every angle, line weight, and curve was intentional. I wasn’t just designing for today—I was designing for my kids, and for yours. For every Black dad who shows up, speaks life, and stays rooted even when the world tries to shake him.

But creating a logo was only half the battle. The next challenge? Making sure every shirt printed carries that same energy—no matter if it’s ordered from Virginia, California, or Nigeria. That meant locking in a process:

  • Making sure the logo size and placement are consistent across all styles

  • Choosing colors that complement the design and align with the brand’s Afrocentric foundation

  • Testing placements — over the heart, on the pocket, center chest — until it felt right

  • Reviewing every sample to make sure nothing was "close enough" unless it was exact

There’s no cutting corners when you’re building a legacy.

That same care is what I’m bringing to the rollout. I recently launched our official Instagram page: @kiburi.co. This is where you’ll get the behind-the-scenes. The sketches. The mess-ups. The progress. The meaning behind the message. It’s also where I’ll be sharing what it really means to be a dad today—the joys, the responsibilities, and the moments that don’t always make it into captions but make up everything we are.

Black Dad Energy isn’t just a name. It’s a mirror for some, a movement for others, and a reminder for all of us. Every shirt, every logo, every post is designed to tell the story of fatherhood with pride—and to tell it the same way, every time.

Follow the journey. Share the message. Wear the crown.
